  mid-level network
  regional network
  
      (Or "regional network") In hierarchical
     routing, a network that carries Internet traffic between
     at least two other networks ({stub networks).
  
     A mid-level network that also has hosts connected to it is
     known as a transit network.
  
     A big (international or trans-continental) network is called a
     backbone network.
