     An alkaloidal ureide, C7H8N4O2, homologous with and
     resembling caffeine, produced artificially, and also
     extracted from cacao and chocolate (from Theobroma Cacao)
     as a bitter white crystalline substance; -- called also
     dimethyl xanthine.
