     fr. parler to speak, LL. parabolare, fr. L. parabola a
     comparison, parable, in LL., a word. See Parable, and cf.
     Parliament, Parlor.]
     Mutual discourse or conversation; discussion; hence, an oral
     conference with an enemy, as with regard to a truce.
