Proper \Prop"er\, a. [OE. propre, F. propre, fr. L. proprius.
1. Belonging to one; one's own; individual. "His proper good"
[i. e., his own possessions]. --Chaucer. "My proper son."

2. Belonging to the natural or essential constitution;
