        Dianthus+({Dianthus+Chiensis">Dianthus ({Dianthus Chiensis) having variously colored

     China root (Med.), the rootstock of a species of Smilax
        ({Smilax China, from the East Indies; -- formerly much
        esteemed for the purposes that sarsaparilla is now used
